Friday blog round-up

  • The BillT blog links to an article about Microsoft opening a research center in Vancouver to get around strict immigration rules in the United States.
  • The National Center for Policy Analysis says that due to the declining fertility rate in Mexico, the influx of illegal immigrants to the U.S. will likely fix itself in time.

The points set forth by the NCPA are really interesting -- and something that should be discussed more at length in this blog, MATT's forums, and the general media.

The reason that the fertility rate is declining in Mexico is because millions of their young men and women of childbearing age have come to the US. Their fertility rate is NOT declining in the US -- it is 3.3, higher in the US than at home. This massive birth rate is to get anchor baby status as well as to get access to all welfare benefits that are accrued to anchor babies. As long as we grant automatic citizenship rights to anchor babies and welfare benefits to them, we will continue to have Mexican women of childbearing age come here to exploit our country for their own benefit.
